Ryan Garcia last night shook the world of boxing, his KO victory over Francisco Fonseca leading fans to claim he is ‘single-handedly saving’ the sport.

The 21-year-old American boxer claimed his 20th consecutive professional victory on Friday, February 14, knocking his opponent out with a left hook to the face in the very first round.

The lightweight fight at the Honda Center in California only lasted a total of 80 seconds before Garcia ‘brutally’ knocked out the former world title challenger.

You can check out his incredible victory below:

Fonseca, 25, only managed to land one punch in the fight before he was knocked out by Garcia, who dodged the boxer’s right jab with ease before delivering a hook with his left, striking his temple.

The 25-year-old dropped to the floor, his head bouncing off the floor before laying there motionless, as the referee waved his hands and checked for a pulse. The crowd then went wild as it was confirmed Garcia had won.

Garcia told ESPN:

It was good. [The fight] didn’t last that long, but I watched a video of Sugar Ray Robinson, and he did this little feint and threw the perfect left hook. I saw it and went for the left hook. Thought I was going to go longer, not going to lie. I respect Fonseca and thank him for the opportunity.

News of his impressive victory has since gone viral, with fans of the boxer describing it as an ‘absolutely brutal’ knockout – one going as far to say Garcia is single-handedly saving the sport of boxing, adding: ‘wow you love to see it.’

Another said the boxer had ‘made their Valentine’s Day’, while one person wrote: ‘Judging by the tweets, seems like I need to watch Ryan Garcia’s fight from last night.’ Yep, I’d say you do.

One Twitter user wrote:

Every fight he has Ryan Garcia proves even more so why he’s not to be messed with. The kid has got handssss

It wasn’t just fans of the boxer who showed support for him though, with fight commentator Sergio Mora tweeting that ‘a new star is born’.

Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe, who represents Gervonta Davis – a lightweight rival of Garcia’s – was also impressed with Garcia’s performance.

Garcia’s victory sees his record as a professional fighter move to 20 wins – 17 of those KOs – unbeaten.

Which I think we can all agree is impressive by anyone’s standards.

Classic Maps Returning To Modern Warfare, According To LeakActivision

Calling all Call of Duty fans: new leaks for Modern Warfare suggest players will be served a heavy dose of nostalgia with the game’s next DLC.

Since the game’s release last month, it’s exceeded all expectations – surpassing $600 million in sales during its launch weekend alone.

And now it seems players are set to get more than they bargained for with Modern Warfare‘s next downloadable content, with a new leak suggesting developers Infinity Ward are set to take players right back to the game’s roots.

As per e-sports news site Dexerto, a new leak via YouTuber ‘TheGamingRevolution’ claims many of our favourite maps from the franchise are set to return.

It’s no secret that players have long since been demanding the revival of the likes of the 1v1 arena Rust, the battlefield of Scrapyard, the claustrophobic setting of Vacant and the nostalgic scenes of Terminal.

Basically, if it turns out to be true, this could be one of the biggest leaks in the game’s history – with all maps expected to make a massive comeback in the latest iteration of Call of Duty.

Now, it’s important to note that this leak is just that – a leak – and that no official confirmation has come from the developers of the game. However, the account behind the leak is a renowned (and usually accurate) source, so it’s certainly worth bearing in mind.

Although Modern Warfare has received high praise in the week since its release, some players have been left disappointed with the multiplayer map experience – which compliments the game’s slower, more methodical approach to combat.

Instead, gamers have been asking CoD‘s developers to go back to their roots and consider what made the franchise so successful, something the leak suggests Infinity Ward will address in the next update.

The full list of leaked Modern Warfare DLC maps is as follows: Wet Work (6v6); Terminal (6v6); Crash (6v6); Vacant (6v6); Broadcast (6v6); Scrapyard (6v6); Rust (6v6 and Gunfight); Farah; Boneyard; Caged; Hook; + 4 Ground War Maps; + Gunfight 3 maps.

If the rumours are to be believed, it looks like the developers will address players’ concerns in the expected launch for the game’s first DLC pack on December 10. An early Christmas present for gamers everywhere!

However, this remains unconfirmed.

From Toys R Us closing down to Donald Trump becoming president, it’s no secret The Simpsons has been at the forefront of a lot of important decision making.

Okay so maybe the sitcom didn’t actually have a hand in these scenarios being brought to life outside of our TV screens, but it has manage to predict them in sometimes spookily accurate ways.

Now, the show’s writers have revealed exactly how they manage to ‘predict the future’, and it’s much less conspiratorial than you might think.

In an interview with Radio 1 Newsbeat, writer Stephanie Gillis explained how they are constantly looking to the future in that they have to try and ‘guess’ what will happen in the world months in advance.

Stephanie said:

We are sort of futurologists in that we write 10 months ahead, so we’re trying to guess what is going to happen.

Because of this, it’s more than likely they are going to hit the jackpot and make correct predictions at least some of the time – especially when they consult things that have already happened to inform their decisions.

Take, for example, the Donald Trump prediction: another of the show’s writers, Al Jean, explained how they were ‘looking for a funny celebrity who would be president’ way back when in 2000 – and Trump had already said he’d consider running for office in the future.

The writer, who has been with Homer and the crew since the show began in 1989, went on to say:

If you make enough predictions then 10 per cent will turn out to be right.

Jean also explained how an episode which aired long before the September 11, 2001 terror attacks – which provided a field day for conspiracy theorists when it appeared to predict 9/11 – was simply a massive coincidence.

In the episode, the family head to New York City and buy a guide book which has the words ‘9 dollars’ on it next to a picture of the Twin Towers and ultimately looked like 9/11. However, Jean said that was ‘totally coincidental’.

The predictions don’t stop there though; the show has also been known to predict Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl performance, the Game Of Thrones Battle Of King’s Landing, Disney’s takeover of Fox, and Canada’s legalisation of marijuana – to name just a few.

I tell you what, as impressive as getting a gig on The Simpsons is, those writers should be adding ‘fortune teller’ and/or ‘predictor of the future’ to the top of their CVs.

I definitely would.
