Shocking Footage Shows Guy Hanging Onto His Stolen Car As It Speeds Away Carjacking B 702x369ViralHog

Alarming dashcam footage shows a man hanging desperately onto his stolen car as an opportunistic thief sped away in it.

The terrifying incident occurred September 10, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. Of course, having your car stolen is an awful ordeal in itself, but this man suffered through a particularly disturbing nightmare.

He had been clinging on the car when the thief decided to take off. The man was then helpless as the car headed off at approximately 35mph; leaving him hanging onto the driver’s window. His steel toe boots could be seen dragging and sparking against the asphalt.

The footage shows the stolen white sedan zooming along a busy road, taking the unfortunate owner, who has not been publicly identified, with it. Thankfully, the man survived the horrifying incident with only minor injuries.

The footage was shot by witness Reed Pellerin, who had recently moved to Los Angeles’ Silverlake neighborhood from Oklahoma.

Pellerin told ABC7 how he had seen the incident unfold while he was in his own car, and decided to film it from the next lane over:

Hear some arguing going on behind me in the lane over, so I look back, I can’t quite tell what’s going on.

I could tell a couple of people are out of their car, and the next thing I know the guy is just flying past me — the thief in the vehicle and the owner hanging out of the vehicle.

Pellerin added:

The right side of his body was in the back window on the driver’s side. He was holding onto what appeared to be the seat,

He was panicked. He was like adrenaline pumping. He was just looking for his glasses. He was moving around. I mean, his face was all bloody.

The vehicle reportedly dragged the man for around three quarters of a mile until he eventually lost his grip. The car continued onwards, and Pellerin stopped to call emergency services.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the man had originally stopped to help out another driver fix a flat tire.

The thief took their opportunity after the man – being a Good Samaritan – left his keys in the car while going over to help the other driver out.

The LAPD located the man’s car at around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday September 11. They also arrested a man on suspicion of carjacking, identifying him as 30-year-old Sergio Fernandez. Fernandez was reportedly taken into police custody without incident.

How sad it is that this man had only been trying to help another person out and ended up being taken advantage of.

The child killer Roy Whiting has been left fighting for his life after being ‘repeatedly stabbed’ with a makeshift blade while in his cell.

Whiting, 59, who’s serving a life sentence at Wakefield Prison, West Yorkshire for the abduction, sexual assault, and murder of eight-year-old Sarah Payne, was reportedly attacked by two convicted murderers on Thursday.

According to reports Whiting was left ‘drenched in blood’ and was taken to hospital in a critical condition, where he received treatment for several stab wounds.

Medics allegedly feared that he had lost too much blood and that he would not survive the attack. However, NHS staff managed to stabilise the killer who is now reportedly back in prison.

A source told The Sun that they believed had Whiting been stabbed on the street he would have died and that it’s only thanks to the professionalism of prison officials and NHS staff that he survived.

They said:

If Whiting had been stabbed in the street he might have died. Because he was in prison, every alarm was raised and he was rushed to hospital within minutes.

It’s testament to the professionalism of the staff involved that he survived. He may not deserve it, but he’s a lucky man indeed.

A prison service spokesperson confirmed an attack took place at HMP Wakefield on Thursday evening adding that they received hospital treatment and are now back in prison in a ‘stable condition.

The incident is being investigated by the police.

Since he was first imprisoned in 2001 a number of newspapers have reported that there is a price on Whiting’s head and he has been attacked several times in the past.

In 2002 Rickie Tregaskis attacked Whiting with a razor while fetching hot water, the attack left Whiting with a six-inch scar on his face. Meanwhile, in 2011 double murderer Gary Vinter stabbed Whiting in the eye with a sharpened toilet brush.

Whiting is serving a 40-year minimum sentence for abducting eight-year-old Sarah Payne from a country lane close to her grandparent’s house while she played hide and seek with her brothers.

Despite police finding sufficient evidence to convict Whiting, he denied all the allegations made against him. He was eventually was found guilty of Sarah’s murder in December 2001 and jailed for life.

After the widely publicised court case, it was revealed that Whiting was already a convicted child sex offender.

This led to Sarah’s family campaigning for the government to allow controlled access to the sex offender registry.

The idea being that parents could look up if a known child sex-offender was living in their area. Sarah Payne’s mother, Sara has insisted that such a law would have saved her daughter’ s life.

After a successful modified version of the scheme ran in 2008 the home office announced in 2010 that the Child Sex Offender Disclosure Scheme, also known as Sarah’s Law, would be extended to cover the whole of England and Wales.

Dubai Police Begin Training On Flying Bikes

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, it’s the Dubai police force whizzing around on their swanky flying bikes.

The daring officers have been filmed training on the futuristic vehicles during a flying lesson reminiscent of some space-age Quidditch match.

It is hoped the S3 2019 hoverbike, developed by innovative California tech firm Hoversurf, will help police to access hard-to-reach areas; attending to emergencies and crimescenes from the air.

Weighing in at 253 pounds, these nifty, battery-powered hoverbikes can zoom around for approximately 40 minutes at a time before needing a re-charge. One thing is for sure, these look like criminally good fun…

This incredible device can soar to dizzying heights of up to 16 feet in the air; reaching speeds of 60mph using their three-bladed propellers.

It is anticipated the S3 2019 hoverbike will be good to go by 2020, bringing many a futuristic crime-fighting movie to life. I for one am getting some serious Star Wars vibes…

Hoversurf chief operating officer Joseph Segura-Conn told CNN:

Currently we have two crews already training (to pilot the hoverbike) and we’re increasing the number.

He continued to explain how the Dubai police force now have the exclusive rights to order as many flying bikes as they need: :

They’re going to let us know in the next month or two if they’d like any more … If they would like 30 or 40, we’ll make it happen for them.

A description on the Hoversurf website reads:

By combining our custom built flight controller, the most innovative composite material processes and having a dedicated team we were able to achieve something truly amazing.

We presented the S3 2019 to the Dubai Police at this years GITEX 2018 where it will now be integrated into there fleet of futuristic vehicles.

Both Hoversurf and Dubai Police understand that this is just the begging to something much larger.

A partnership were both see the future is within our grasp and that together we can materialize the human dream of personal flight.

Daredevil civilians can also get in on the action, but it will set you back a pretty penny plus you will be screened to make sure you are capable of flying it.

The bike can be purchased for $150,000 (£114,000), so by all means pop it on your list to Father Christmas but maybe be prepared to settle for an exercise bike from Argos instead.

Rather handily, this vehicle can reportedly be easily parked in your regular parking spot, so could actual be quite practical for your big Tesco shop?

I would absolutely love a go on one of these things, but I must admit, the prospect of those huge, exposed blades whirring away at neck height do make me feel a tad nervous.

It’s difficult to imagine these contraptions swooshing around the streets, sirens blaring. But remember, once upon a time, human beings would have been shocked at the prospect of flying in an airplane.

Could we be living through a new, excitement chapter in aviation history?

Five men have been arrested in connection with a video depicting the burning of a model of Grenfell Tower.

Police are currently investigating the incident after a video was shared online of people laughing as they burnt an effigy, which was clearly labelled ‘Grenfell Tower’, on a fire.

Five men handed themselves into police in south London at around 10pm last night (November 5). Two aged 49, one aged 46, one 55, and a 19-year-old.

They were all arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and taken into custody.

Footage of the incident was shared on social media, showing a large cardboard model of the tower block, with people in the windows, as the group set it on fire.

In the video, people can be heard laughing and cheering as it lights up. At the end, someone reportedly says: ‘That’s what happens when they don’t pay their rent’.

Campaigners have called the video a ‘sickening act of hate’, and it has been condemned by Prime Minister Theresa May, who called it ‘utterly unacceptable’, Metro reports.

Stuart Cundy, the Metropolitan Police Commander who’s leading the investigation into the Grenfell tragedy, said he was ‘appalled’ by the video.

He said, as per Sky News:

I am frankly appalled by the callous nature of the video posted online. So many people lost so many loved ones, and many more have been deeply affected. To mock that disaster in such a crude way is vile.

London Fire Commissioner, Dany Cotton, who was at the scene of the tragedy in June last year, said the video was ‘appalling and disturbing’.

72 people lost their lives in the Grenfell Tower disaster on June 14, 2017.

Natasha Elcock, from campaigners group Grenfell United, said:

It’s a disgusting video. We hope that the police are taking this seriously.

While London mayor Sadiq Khan, said the video was ‘utterly sickening’.

Theresa May said:

To disrespect those who lost their lives at Grenfell Tower, as well as their families and loved ones, is utterly unacceptable.

Scotland Yard have said its Grenfell Tower investigation team was ‘taking this matter very seriously’, and said:

Any offences that have been committed will be fully investigated.
