Alarming dashcam footage shows a man hanging desperately onto his stolen car as an opportunistic thief sped away in it.

The terrifying incident occurred September 10, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. Of course, having your car stolen is an awful ordeal in itself, but this man suffered through a particularly disturbing nightmare.

He had been clinging on the car when the thief decided to take off. The man was then helpless as the car headed off at approximately 35mph; leaving him hanging onto the driver’s window. His steel toe boots could be seen dragging and sparking against the asphalt.

The footage shows the stolen white sedan zooming along a busy road, taking the unfortunate owner, who has not been publicly identified, with it. Thankfully, the man survived the horrifying incident with only minor injuries.

The footage was shot by witness Reed Pellerin, who had recently moved to Los Angeles’ Silverlake neighborhood from Oklahoma.

Pellerin told ABC7 how he had seen the incident unfold while he was in his own car, and decided to film it from the next lane over:

Hear some arguing going on behind me in the lane over, so I look back, I can’t quite tell what’s going on.

I could tell a couple of people are out of their car, and the next thing I know the guy is just flying past me — the thief in the vehicle and the owner hanging out of the vehicle.

Pellerin added:

The right side of his body was in the back window on the driver’s side. He was holding onto what appeared to be the seat,

He was panicked. He was like adrenaline pumping. He was just looking for his glasses. He was moving around. I mean, his face was all bloody.

The vehicle reportedly dragged the man for around three quarters of a mile until he eventually lost his grip. The car continued onwards, and Pellerin stopped to call emergency services.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the man had originally stopped to help out another driver fix a flat tire.

The thief took their opportunity after the man – being a Good Samaritan – left his keys in the car while going over to help the other driver out.

The LAPD located the man’s car at around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday September 11. They also arrested a man on suspicion of carjacking, identifying him as 30-year-old Sergio Fernandez. Fernandez was reportedly taken into police custody without incident.

How sad it is that this man had only been trying to help another person out and ended up being taken advantage of.

A paedophile from Kazakhstan is going to be chemically castrated following the introduction of a new sex offenders law earlier this year.

A new law came into force as of January 1, 2018, permitting chemical castration as a punishment for paedophiles as part of a wider package of legislative amendments aimed at protecting the rights of the child.

An unnamed man, from the region of Turkestan, will be given an injection supervised by Kazakhstan’s health ministry.

He will be the first person in the former Soviet republic to receive this controversial punishment, with Turkestan becoming the first region of the country to carry out chemical castration.

president-nursultan nazarbayeveast2west News

Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has allocated £20,500 for 2,000 injections on those who have committed child sex attacks.

According to BNEWS KZ, Vice Minister of Healthcare Lyazzat Aktayeva said:

From January 1 2018, the order of the Ministry of Healthcare on the use and rules to use chemical castration has entered into force.

Accordingly, it can be applied by a court decision. Funds are already allocated from the rebulican budget. As of today, one application for the use chemical castration by a court decision has already been received.

This new law applies to those over the age of 18 years old, with the intention of preventing sexual assault crimes against minors.

The procedure itself will be administered within prisons or health care organisations to offenders who have been sentenced to other forms of punishment. In Kazakhstan, sex crimes against children may also result in prison sentences of up to 20 years.

This new legislation states that, ‘the use of compulsory medical measures in the form of chemical castration is carried out on the basis of a court decision in order to prevent the state of decompensation in persons suffering from a disorder of sexual preference’.

Senator Byrganym Aitimova has said the castration would be ‘temporary’, involving a ‘one-time injection’ based upon ‘the necessity of preventing the man from [committing] sexual violence’, The Mirror reports.

Cyproterone – a steroidal anti-androgen created for treating cancer – will reportedly be used.

Unlike surgical castration, undergoing chemical castration will not stop an offender from experiencing sexual urges indefinitely, and some have raised concerns this procedure may not prevent future attacks.

Medical doctor Mikhail Zakharchenko told 365info.kz:

This method does not work 100 percent. Some patients continue to experience sexual desire despite the hormonal changes,

Moreover, the erectile functions of pedophiles are suppressed only while they are taking the medication, but after the course of treatment, they return to normal.

As reported by ABS CBN, back in 2017, Kazakhstan’s state prosecutor stated there had been a rise in child rapes with figures doubling to nearly one cases per year between the years 2010 to 2014.

According to the Astana Times, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Administrative Police juvenile police department head, Asset Ospanov, has claimed paedophiles have a 70 per cent relapse rate.

A young boy has been arrested for putting needles in strawberries in Australia.

Detectives in New South Wales announced the arrest of the boy today (September 19), after he admitted to putting needles in the fruit as a ‘prank’.

Stuart Smith, Acting Assistant Commissioner, said the arrest had been made in the past few days.

Finding needles in fruit has become a contamination crisis across the country, which detectives have said is entirely the work of copycats and pranksters.

Smith explained the situation around the boy’s arrest to News7:

Obviously in the last few days we found a young person has admitted to a prank, including putting needles in strawberries.

He added the boy will be dealt with under the ‘youth cautioning system’, and announced a $100,000 reward for information about anyone who’s guilty of contaminating fruit in New South Wales.

The announcement of the arrest follows an incident at a Newcastle primary school, north of Sydney, where a child found a needle inside a banana. Luckily the student discovered the needle before biting into the fruit.

The primary school shared the incident on their Facebook page, warning parents to cut fruit up before giving it to their children.

The post read:

As you would have heard, this morning a student at St Paul’s discovered a needle in a piece of fruit.

The student fortunately discovered the fruit was contaminated before biting into it.

The local police were informed, have visited the school, and are investigating. If you send fruit to school over the next few days, please cut it up first and send it in a plastic container.

The horrible trend is taking its toll on Australian farmers, who are wasting thousands of dollars daily, picking strawberries they immediately have to dump.

Demand has reportedly halved in the past week, as the crisis ripped through the industry and supermarkets removed the fruit from their shelves.

Donnybrook Berries Farm, situated north of Brisbane, was the third brand affected by the contamination when a man was rushed to hospital after eating a strawberry with a needle in on September 9.

Joshua Gane shared a post on Facebook, which told of someone swallowing a needle when eating strawberries, which read:

Just posting this as a warning to anyone that has bought strawberries (Berry Obsessions) from Woolworths recently.

Driving up to the coast when Hoani van Dorp bites through a strawberry and swallows half a sewing needle.

We then checked the other strawberries and found another sewing needle lodged inside one of them. We are now at the ER because he subsequently started experiencing severe abdominal pain.

Another six farms were targeted by the malicious pranksters and have had their stock pulled from supermarket shelves indefinitely.

Since then, the industry as a whole has started to suffer in the country as dozens of people found razors or needles in their fruit, and stopped purchasing strawberries for fear they’d be a victim.

Stephanie Chheang shared a video on Facebook taken at her family’s strawberry farm.

This is no doubt the worst thing to ever happen to my family. This here is a video of our strawberries being dumped, this here is worth more then you could ever imagine and within 3 days we lost it all. My mum Leena Lee Cufari and my step dad has worked years to build the empire they’re sitting on now, they put all their money and effort in to build such a successful business. They work hard to make the money for our family and to have these selfish individuals destroy it is just so upsetting. My mum works day through to the night, controlling the shed and her 250 employees, making sure her strawberries are packed to perfection. This will not stop my family from doing what they do best, if anything they’re going to do better. I thank everyone who supports us and all the other farmers who were affected by this horrible issue. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤*** To everyone who does not know, this is due to the needle contamination. We have to throw them out because the markets wouldnt take our strawberries due to the needle scare.** video produced from Donnybrook Berries** Donnybrook berries will be adding precaution and putting in metal detectors and other safety equipment we can think of to give our consumers the best quality strawberries.

Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, explained they’re looking to introduce a provision swiftly, which will see anyone guilty of this behaviour, imprisoned for up to ten years.

No guys, not cereal thief. We’re not talking some crazy, Coco Pops-addicted madman running out of the Kelloggs factory with milk streaming down his chin, unfortunately.

Instead, we’re talking serial thief, as in someone repeatedly committing the same offence over and over again.

Caught on CCTV in Washington D.C., the hapless thief has been spotted dozens of times casually walking out the petrol station with handfuls of items. While staff were distracted he would grab snacks and drinks and just walk out without paying. Amazingly, he’d keep going back to the same store.

This time, however, staff were wise to his moves, and locked the door as he tried to escape, again with handfuls of items. After trying to get out, talking to staff, and then pleading with them, the thief eventually tries to break his way out by running and kicking at the door.

Check out the whole video here:

After smashing the glass in the door to make his escape, I think it’s safe to say the guy won’t be back in the store again, no matter how much he wants his cereal.

As this guy was known as a serial thief at the gas station, it seems karma took her time catching up with him.

She was probably too busy doling out instant karma – a much more satisfying result for the innocent bystander.

Such as with these two thieves who tried to steal a motorbike in London in recently.

Check it out:

As the video shows, one thief tries to stand up to a passerby who tries to intervene, grabbing a hammer and initially scaring him away.

On first impression, the man concedes defeat. I wouldn’t want to go up against a man with a hammer and I’m not sure anyone would?

A few seconds away from the scene, the passerby had the opportunity to stop and think about things – how he could still do something, as well as the fact mopeds are no match for cars.

Realising they’ve been busted and the police are almost certainly on their way, the two hapless criminals try to scarper off.

Satisfyingly, however, our passerby in the silver car returns, reversing towards the thieves quicker than Captain Marvel punches old ladies.

Although one of the thieves runs off, the reversing silver car smashes into the moped, just as the other criminal jumps off.

The driver of the car immediately gets out, presumably to phone the police as the driver of the moped gives up on his two-wheeler and makes a run for it himself.

In another great move by karma, the hero’s headlight actually starts working again after the thief has hit the car with his hammer – almost as if the universe wanted to reward driver’s heroic intentions.

Thankfully, the criminal got what he deserved after the man in the silver car reversed into his bike. If he thought he could steal someone else’s motorbike, then he certainly didn’t deserve his own!
