Computer Hackers Meet For Annual Congress

You can now get paid to ‘stalk’ people on social media. In the quirky modern sense. Not actual legitimate stalking. That’s illegal.

As a man of honour and respect, I have little time for snooping on other people’s cyber presence, and even less inclination. That’s just me, though.

Judging by the fact you can now be employed to do so, however, proves the fad is more real than I’d like to think.

Andy Bartram, from Maidstone, Kent, has launched his own investigation agency to funnel out all the fake profiles and trolls so as to keep normal singletons safe.

The 46-year-old set up Vet Your Date earlier this month and charges £20 a pop for each pre-date search of your Tinder or Bumble match.

He told Kent Live:

I have done those kinds of searches as an intelligence analyst and while I was watching Catfish on MTV I thought it could potentially be a good idea to do something similar here.

Anybody could do it, but in the same way if you need your boiler fixed, you would get a professional in because of safety.

I have spent a number of years as a criminal intelligence analyst and I have had police training.

That gives me the power to interrogate web pages to get results back.

Andy, a father of one, is confident of his ‘stalking’ skills he learnt with the police and is eager to put it to good use.

He added:

Although I set it up as a vetting thing for dating it could also be used for other purposes. Online dating is such a massive industry these days.

I have got lots of friends who use it quite a lot and there are numerous different apps people use.

It is all swipe right and swipe left.

It comes just after Catfish host Max Joseph announced last night (August 8) he would be leaving the popular MTV show which made him famous.

He told Twitter:

Hey guys, the time has come, sadly, for me to move on from Catfish.

Working on this show for the last seven years has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I’ve learned a lot about myself, my country and human nature in general.

For a while now I have been straddling two careers as TV host and filmmaker and, while this level of busy-ness is a dream come true, my life can no longer sustain it. With Catfish still going strong after 7 seasons, 115 episodes, 31 specials and showing no sign of slowing down, I feel it is finally the time for me to make my exit.

It really was a f****** blast and I am eternally grateful for every second of it.

Reckon you’ve got what it takes to replace Max, for on a much smaller and cheaper scale, to protect Kent citizens from online wrong-un’s? Check out their Facebook page to see what’s what.

Good luck and keep doing you, Andy.

A Georgia city is on the hunt of a so-called criminal who put googly eyes on a public monument.

The statue of Nathanael Greene in Johnson Square, once a commemoration of ‘The Saviour of the South’ major general of the Continental Army, is now a laughing stock thanks to the addition of two props.

‘Who did this?! Someone placed googly eyes on our historic #NathanaelGreene statue in #JohnsonSquare,’ City of Savannah government wrote on Facebook. ‘It may look funny but harming our historic monuments and public property is no laughing matter, in fact, it’s a crime.

‘We are hoping to find the person responsible! If you have information, please call Savannah Police Department.’

Arrested for banter? I’m not so sure. Yeah, defacing war heroes isn’t the greatest way to let a city know you’re here for a good time not a long one, but can’t the googly eyes be removed?

While never having dabbled in the practise of vandalising statues, I imagine they’re made of sterner stuff than a bit of blue-tac.

Social media opinion was split, with one person writing:

So about a month ago I watched some dudes skateboarding on top of the Haitian Soldiers monument in Franklin square. I watched not one, but two cops drive by, and an ambulance with a driver was literally parked right next to it (that was kind of funny because I was waiting for the kid to land on the fence). Y’all weren’t worried about that though. But googly eyes on old Nathaniel?!?

Another joker said:

As a manufacturer of Acme Googly Eyes LLC, I can tell you that I’m shocked and chagrined to see our fine products being used in such a callous and demeaning manner. We here at Googly want to let you know, we are doing everything we can to secure our product and make sure the manner they are used in will only be for serious matters here and forthwith.

Another person, not joking at all, fumed:

How about the fact that some of the parking meters are still having issues reading cards, but y’all have no issues handing out parking tickets and booting vehicles? How about last night when I drove down Broughton Street and saw dozens of homeless people sleeping in wind and rain? The gang violence, drugs being dealt left and right as cops drive right on by? Many people knowing there’s a huge coke and spice issue here in this city? These should be no laughing matter, not some plastic googly eyes that can be easily removed. Take your jobs more seriously.

Sorry to end on a sour note there guys. Why not scroll back up and take another look at how funny that monument looks with googly eyes?

UFC hotshot Khabib Nurmagomedov has called out boxing veteran Floyd Mayweather after pummelling Conor McGregor inside four rounds two weeks ago.

In what was billed as the biggest fight in the 25-year history of the company, Khabib caught Conor with a strong fist early in the second round sending McGregor to the floor.

The fight eventually came to an end in the fourth round when McGregor was forced into submission.

What followed was almost cinematic in its lairiness. Khabib, not so content with winning the scrap, proceeded to jump out of the Octagon and into McGregor’s camp. People from Khabib’s entourage then jumped into the Octagon and swung for McGregor who had been swinging a couple of arms at another member of the Russian’s team.

Regardless, the 30-year-old retained his UFC lightweight title (for the time being) and is setting his sights on Mayweather.

Standing beside Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, he said:

Hey let’s go Floyd, we have to fight now. 50 and 0 versus 27 and 0, two guys that never lose. Let’s go, why not? Cause in the jungle only one king, only one king.

Of course I am the king. Because he [Mayweather] can not drop McGregor but I drop him easily.

Mayweather said, in response to Khabib’s post-fight behaviour:

I’m not too familiar with the guy McGregor was fighting, but I know the guy he was facing was undefeated. McGregor is a tough competitor but McGregor’s opponent jumped out of the ring and was fighting people in the crowd so, very unprofessional.

It’s going to be a huge fine I’m pretty sure because with my fight against Zab Judah, there was a crazy melee in the ring and a huge penalty – a huge fine. If I’m not mistaken, seven figures.

Not to me, but could have been to Zab Judah or my uncle Roger or even Leonard Ellerbe, so I know when a guy’s jumping out of the cage into the audience and fighting different people, the fine is going to be crazy.

Look who I ran into at tonight’s fights in Russia.

A post shared by Leonard Ellerbe (@leonardellerbe) on

So judging by that, he won’t be going anywhere near the Russian anytime soon.

Following the furore at UFC 229, McGregor was been suspended by the UFC on ‘medical grounds’. As a result he will not be allowed any contact until October 28.

The official line on the UFC list of medical suspensions states: ‘Conor McGregor: Suspended until 6/11/18, no contact until 28/10/18.’

As is often the case in the fallout of a fight, McGregor issued a congratulatory message for his opponent, writing on his Twitter, ‘Good knock. Looking forward to the rematch.’

It was McGregor’s first fight back in the Octagon since a two-year hiatus from MMA, during which time he boxed Floyd Mayweather, losing by TKO in round 10 of their August 2017 bout.

Boxer Deontay Wilder has apologised after he broke a man’s jaw live on television claiming he didn’t realise there was a person in the mascot suit.

The current WBC Heavyweight champion went viral earlier this week when he punched a tortilla in the face with the cameras catching every single second.

Appearing on the ESPN show Nacion to promote his upcoming fight against the one and only Tyson Fury, Wilder was asked to demonstrate his punching power being encouraged to hit the mascot.

The producers clearly went on to regret this decision as Wilder punched the tortilla mascot slam bam in the face with all his power.

Ignoring the fact the tortilla had legs and was moving around, for some reason Wilder failed to realise there was an actual human being in the outfit therefore giving it all he had.

And according to Raw Daily, the poor fella in the outfit had his jaw broken by the punch meaning he really didn’t have a good day at the office.

You can watch the video below:

The video left us with so many questions about Wilder including has he ever heard of mascots, did he think a tortilla had been brought to life and what on Earth was going through his mind during the incident?

Finally breaking his silence, Wilder has responded to the video in an Instagram post disputing the claim he didn’t know a person was in the costume.

Sharing a screenshot of a news article about the video, Wilder wrote:

Yea, anything headlining I didn’t know a ‘Human Being’ was in there is just straight ‘Click Baiting’.

Like come on now, I guess the Mascot rolled out there. Show so respect!

I sincerely apologise to the brave man that was injured (if this is true). I have the up most high respect for him, his participation, willingness and courage.

If this is true Nacion ESPN I personally would like to invite him to my Dec.1 fight. Word Is Bond.

To be honest Wilder, I am not sure the man in the mascot outfit will be wanting to see you again. Especially anywhere near a boxing ring!

While the post has received support from his fans getting over 47,000 likes so far at time of writing (October 14), people have had mixed reactions to the incident in the comments section.

One user branded Wilder’s behaviour as ‘stupid’ writing:

Stupid behaviour. How the hell didn’t he know a real person was inside. And how old could that person have been? Could have been a kid or girl.

I saw the video and the presenters were absolutely pathetic. The lady was shocked but then covered up. Who went to help the mascot? No one really. Bad bad bad incident.

Another person disagreed though stating that it could have happened to anyone. Really?

They commented:

Damn brother! That’s crazy!! I love your post tho. This could happen to anybody. See you in December Champ.

While we are looking forward to the December fight, I doubt it will be as exciting as Wilder vs. tortilla.
