Where is The A Word filmed?

The A Word is a six-part drama series that was filmed in locations in the Lake District, including Keswick, Coniston and Thirlmere.

Talking about the locations that the series was filmed in, Phil McKay from Lakeside Castings said: “The filming has taken place around Coniston and Keswick… it represents a big chance for local people and it’s nice to have a bunch of extras from all walks of life.

“It’s good for them to get involved and have an insight of what’s going on in their village… it’s positive that the filming went ahead despite the floods that have affected so many people in the county, it gives them a boost.”

The scenery used as a backdrop for the show is certainly stunning

Keswick

Keswick is a market town in the Lake District that is surrounded by mountains like Skiddaw.

It lies just 20 minutes from Junction 40 of the M6 and has been voted 9th UK destination in the 7th annual Travellers’ Choice awards for Destinations; the best historic town in the Landlove Magazine Awards 2015, and the winner of The Kennel Club’s most Dog Friendly town award.

Coniston

Coniston is a village in the Furness region of Cumbria, in the southern area of the Lake District national Park.

The village at the mouth of Coppermines Valley and Yewdale Beck which descend from the Coniston Fells –  a historical location for ore and slate mining.

Thirlmere

Thirlmere is a reservoir in the Borough of Allerdale located in Cumbria and the Lake District.

The reservoir is 3.5 miles long, 1.2 miles wide and 158 feet deep and was originally two smaller lakes.

The smaller lakes were then purchased in 1889 by Manchester City Corporation Waterworks and the area was dammed with a dam – leading  the area became one large reservoir.

This process meant that the settlements of Armboth and Wythburn were submerged – with the only remaining building being a small church at Wythburn, which lies in the shadow of Helvellyn, England’s third highest mountain.

When does The A Word start on the BBC?

After a successful first series, The A Word has returned for a second season.

You can watch it on Tuesdays at 9pm on BBC One.

It goes up against BBC Two’s Rick Stein’s Road To Mexico and Channel 4’s Grand Designs: House of The Year.

What happens on Series 2 of The A Word?

The show’s second season picks up two years after the first season.

Now aged seven, Joe has begun to look at the world and finds that he doesn’t fit in. “Autistic” is a word he has heard but can’t yet understand.

“Different” is what he feels, and fears might be something bad.

It is up to the whole family to help Joe make sense of who he is and his place in the world.

But to do that, they must first be honest about themselves.

The six-part drama revisits the funny, messy, mixed-up lives of the Hughes and Scott families as they struggle to do their best as parents, carers, lovers… and to work out what’s really important in the face of nothing ever feeling normal.

A 3-0 win in Guayaquil was enough to put Renato Gaucho’s side out of site and ensure a 1-0 loss at home in the second leg was purely academic.

Argentines Lanus made it to their first ever final in more dramatic fashion, losing 1-0 away to River Plate and then finding themselves 2-0 down at home after 23 minutes of the second leg.

But Jorge Almiron’s side then scored four goals without reply to sensationally secure their place in the final.

DAUGHTER of model Katie Price and pop star Peter Andre, Princess Tiaamii was always going to end up making headlines one way or the other.

From appearing on Loose Women and her mum’s reality shows to causing a stir on Instagram here’s everything you need to know about Katie Price’s eldest daughter…

Who is Princess Tiaamii and how old is she?

Princess Tiaamii is the daughter of Katie Price and Peter Andre.

Born June 29 2007, Princess is the couple’s eldest daughter and is now aged 10.

She was born two years after her brother Junior, whose father is also Peter Andre.

Katie split from Princess’ dad in 2009 and since then married Alex Reid and is currently married to Kieran Hayler.

Princess also has half siblings Harvey (from mum Katie’s romance with Dwight York), Bunny and Jett (from Katie’s current marriage to Kieran) and Theodore and Amelia (her dad Peter’s kids with new wife Emily).

Princess is 10 years old and Katie’s eldest daughter

Why is she called Princess Tiaamii?

Princess got her unusual name because dad Peter wanted her to be named after both his and Katie’s mums – Thea and Amy, so he came up with the interesting combination.

Pete revealed at the time: “Katie always loved the name Princess, but everyone thought it was a bit over the top.

“I loved it too but I wanted to name her after both our mums. Then I just woke up one morning and thought, I know!

“We’ll just put them together! If people don’t like it, that’s up to them.”

Her full name is Princess Tiaamii Crystal Esther Andre.

Why has Princess Tiaamii been at the centre of Instagram controversy?

Over the years Princess’ mum Katie has come under fire for posting pictures of her on social media showing her pouting and wearing make-up.

Back in 2015 she caused a furore by sharing a picture of the youngster wearing lashings of mascara and pouting her lips which were covered in lip gloss.

At the time Princess hit back at critics herself in a clip posted online by her mum, saying: “By the way, I wanna do my make-up, not my mum, I do. And anyway it’s none of your beeswax, so oosh!”

In early 2017 her mum Katie divided opinion again by sharing a picture of her posing in her bikini on holiday.

While many complimented the beautiful youngster, others believed the images were overly sexy for a child.

Katie later defended her decision – saying that Princess doesn’t even know what ‘sexy’ is.

She said: “If I said to Princess don’t pose like that it’s too sexy – she doesn’t know what sexy is.

“She just watched the best!…  The people who were saying she looked too sexy, they looking at her thinking she looks sexy…

“They should take a look at themselves and wonder why they are saying she looks sexy.”

Katie again came under fire in July 2017 after posting a video of Princess and Junior to Instagram showing them promoting a drinks range.

At the end of 2016, Princess briefly had her own Instagram account after begging her mother for one.

The decision to allow her was wildly criticised with critics claiming that she was placing them in danger from online predators, and forcing them to grow up too fast. The account disappeared just a few weeks later.

Has Princess Tiaamii appeared on TV shows?

It is no secret that Princess is keen to follow in her famous parents’ footsteps.

She has already appeared on TV with their mum and dad on their numerous reality show, and most recently starred on Katie’s new TLC show Katie Price’s Pony Club.

Princess has also made a few appearances on Loose Women, alongside brother Junior.

The Sun’s Bizarre Column has also reported how Junior and Princess are in discussions to become the faces of McDonald’s.

A source revealed how the pair being offered big bucks to represent the fast-food chain’s world-famous Happy Meals.
