CORRIE fans have always been good at noticing the odd and inconsistent, and their latest spot is no exception.

During Monday night’s episodes, viewers were stumped during a bed scene between couple Todd Grimshaw and Billy Mayhew – because their shared bed was absolutely tiny.

As the pair slept next to each other, fans couldn’t help but notice how tiny their bed was

The pair’s bedroom is rarely shown on screen, and now is appears the reason behind it.

Fans took exception to their sleeping arrangements, and flocked to Twitter to air their confusion.

“Todd and Billy could do with investing in a bigger bed. #corrie,” wrote one.

While another echoed the sentiment and said: “That bed Todd and Billy are in is tiny #corrie”

A third superfan sound the moment sad, and said: “So much space between my guys in such a tiny bed….. also is that how #Billy normally tries to sleep – looks very uncomfortable #Todd #Corrie”

While another astute fan added:  #Corrie the bed looks small for 2 grown men & why do dramas always unfold because of a passing jogger.”

A fifth fan joked: “Todd and Billy should invest in a new bed, though given recent events a single bed would be enough. #Corrie #coronationstreet”

Monday night was full of drama for the couple – with vicar Billy’s past coming back to haunt him in a big bad way.

The character, played by Daniel Brocklebank, confessed to Todd that he caused a serious car crash back in 2001 after an armed robbery went wrong.

He was forced to reveal the truth after he was arrested for his connection to the crime even though it was over 16 years ago.

Billy had previously handed himself in after attacking Peter Barlow, and had his fingerprints taken in the process – causing him to be flagged up in the system.

Now they have to deal with what this might mean for the adoption of their foster daughter, Summer.

Ahead of the show, Daniel teased: “When the social services find out, this could damage their future.

As for what Billy tells Todd about this shocking turn of events, Daniel is bracing himself for viewers to be stunned by his character’s past, and said:

“I’m excited but nervous because it shows a different side to Billy,” he says. “We get more of an idea of who Billy used to be…”

KYM Marsh has been praised for her work on Coronation Street following a devastating stillbirth storyline.

It was made even more poignant with Kym’s openness about losing a baby of her own in the same way. The popstar-turned-actress’s poignant performance earned her a British Soap Award.

Who is Kym Marsh?

Kym Marsh is a television actress known for playing Michelle Connor on Coronation Street.

The 40-year-old originally found fame as the lead singer of the band Hear’Say, which was created as part of talent show Popstars in 2000.

After a year-and-a-half in the band, Kym quit and launched her solo career in 2003, but was dropped by her record label after only one album.

She eventually found success in Corrie, and became a full-time cast member from April 2006.

Kym has been married twice – to Eastenders star Jack Ryder from 2002-2009, and to Hollyoaks’ Jamie Lomas from 2012-2014.

She has had four children – Emilie Mae, 20, David Ryan, 17, Polly, 6, and Archie.

Unfortunately, Archie was born only 23 weeks into the pregnancy and did not survive.

The loss of Archie later had a strange parallel to the loss of her character Michelle’s child in 2017, something Kym admits was difficult.

Following the Manchester bombing, Kym shared her grief with the bereaved parents of the victims, many of whom were children.

The actress revealed the “sense of loss” felt by the Corrie cast, leading the soap’s stars as they ran the Great Manchester Run to honour those killed in the atrocity.

The Sun recently revealed that Kym called the cops after explicit snaps of her were leaked online.

What happened to Michelle and Steve’s child on Coronation Street?

Michelle suffered a miscarriage in the middle of her baby shower at the Rover’s Return.

She was rushed to hospital by her other half Steve, to discover her body had gone into early labour.

To add to her suffering, she was then told she would have to give birth to the baby boy, even though it wouldn’t survive.

The barmaid wept as she said:“I was meant to take care of him, I can’t give birth knowing he’s going to die. I can’t do it.”

Also, because the tot was born before the significant amount of weeks, she would not receive a birth or death certificate for the child.

The pair named the baby Ruari, and they have struggled to come to terms with the loss since.

How did Kym tackle the storyline?

Speaking of her decision to agree to the storyline, she said: “It is a cause very close to my heart having lost my beautiful Archie.

“I have had to go to some very dark places in my mind while filming these heartbreaking scenes, but my family, friends and colleagues have been incredible.

“Losing a child is something that never leaves you so to revisit those feelings has been challenging.”

She told OK! Magazine: “Watching it back reinforced why I agreed to do the storyline in the first place – to help other people who’ve gone though something similar.”

Kym was praised for her portrayal of Michelle

Show bosses worked closely with stillbirth charity Sands on the episode to ensure it was handled with sensitivity.

The star previously revealed: “Coronation Street ensured that I had a counsellor on set at all times, but for me the best tonic after a hugely emotional day was to go home to my kids and be reminded of how lucky I am to have them.”

Charity Zoe’s Gift praised the soap and the stars for tackling the difficult subject, and wrote on its Facebook page: “We salute Kym and Simon for reliving their own personal tragedies for this storyline. No one should have to face this heartache. If you have any concerns about your baby’s movements always speak to your midwife or maternity unit.”

Kym is fighting for the rights of mothers

What is Kym’s ‘rights fight’?

Kim is now fighting for the rights of mothers to legally recognise children born before 24 weeks.

She has become an ambassador for charity Saying Goodbye, which offers support for anyone who has lost a baby in pregnancy, birth or infancy.

She revealed they will campaign for mums who lose children prematurely to be allowed to put their birth on the National Register.

Kym said: “We’re trying to encourage the Office for National Statistics to agree any parent who wishes to register their child can do that.

“That way their children’s names will always be on the National Register, and they will exist.

“If we could achieve that, it would be a huge step forward.”

She also wants special wards where bereaved mums can be treated, away from the cries of newborns. She said: “That would be far more humane.”

What is Kym Marsh’s experience of stalking off-screen?

The brave mum has spoken out about her stalking ordeal, which saw a “scary” social media user take on her persona across her Twitter and Facebook accounts.

She revealed how they had been impersonating her for a staggering SEVEN years.

As well as taking on her personality, the crazed fan also set up fake profiles for her children David and Emilie and uploaded images of the family home onto the sites.

She told OK! Magazine of her terror and said: “No one should feel scared in their own home and I was.

“A while ago I was sent porn hate mail to my house. Some bloke was sending photographs of my face put on pornographic images.

“Trolling on Twitter is a big thing.”

In a case of life imitates art, her Coronation Street character Michelle is battling her own stalker on the ITV soap

How has Kym’s character Michelle Connor endured stalking on-screen?

Meanwhile on the Coronation Street cobbles, it really is a case of life imitates art for Kim, whose character Michelle is battling her own stalker.

Last week, we reported how the barmaid will be “terrified to her very core” by ex boyfriend Will Patterson’s twisted game.

Talking of upcoming scenes with the deranged businessman she told Inside Soap: “To think that someone she considers an old friend could do this to her is going to creep Michelle out. She’ll go through every emotion under the sun.”

So when his other half discovers that he lied about seeing his GP, she gently broaches the subject with him, but he refuses to discuss it with her.

“He just can’t handle it,” explains Tristan Gemmill, who plays Robert. “He’s terrified that he might go the same way as his father, who died of cancer, but he won’t share that with the person he should share
it with, and that’s Michelle.”

Fate steps in, however, when Robert tries to save Joseph from being hit by a car and he gets run over!

At the hospital, Tracy lets slip to Michelle about Robert’s dad and, armed with this knowledge, Michelle has a heart to heart with her man and he admits that he discovered the lump weeks ago.

“Michelle uses that time while he is immobilised to get the urologist in,” continues Tristan.

“Robert feels backed into a corner but reluctantly agrees to an examination. The doctor says there is definitely something there and recommends he has a scan immediately.”

Following the tests, the specialist breaks the news that Robert’s been dreading: the lump is most likely cancer and he’ll need an operation to remove one of his testicles.

“Having cancer is Robert’s worst fear,” reveals Tristan, adding that the chef keeps this latest news from Michelle too.
“He is terrified to the point of being frozen with fear and that’s why he won’t tell anyone. He doesn’t know how to deal with it.”

Just when it seemed as though Sinead had finally made up her mind between Chesney and Daniel, she’s thrown through another loop this week.

The confused girl’s problems start when Izzy offers to look after Joseph, so Sinead celebrates her freedom by getting drunk in the pub.

Daniel finds her in a sozzled state and takes her back to his flat for a coffee to sober up.

Over their caffeine fix, the pair admit they still have feelings for each other, and Daniel leans in for a snog – will Sinead reciprocate?

Following their encounter, a guilty Sinead makes her way home, where she learns Joseph has had an accident after running into the road.

Mortified because she was meant to be collecting him, Sinead blames herself and, to make matters worse, Tracy lands her in it with Chesney by revealing that she saw her with Daniel.

Fuming, Chesney seeks revenge on his rival. What is he plotting?
