GOOD Morning Britain host Ben Shephard was well and truly in the wars as he was forced to present the breakfast show wearing a huge moon boot strapped to his leg after falling off a WALL.

Ahead of today’s programme, the cheeky presenter shared a snap of the chunky grey support device on his left thigh and told fans he injured himself “failing to be a ninja”.

Good Morning Britain host Ben Shephard presented today’s show with his leg strapped in a moon boot

Alongside the image, which saw him posing with co-presenters Charlotte Hawkins and Kate Garraway, he wrote: “Morning all – so this grew on me overnight!”

The bubbly Londoner also presents ITV show Ninja Warrior, which sees competitors tackle a series of obstacles on an action-packed course, yet it seems his own skills don’t live up to the title.

As soon as GMB opened, he revealed just how he had suffered the painful muscle tears after Kate joked: “It’s Friday 13 and Ben Shephard has already had his bad luck – take a look at what he’s wearing this season!”

As Ben quipped his bad luck was “working with you” the camera panned to his leg under the desk as he said: “This is brand new for the weekend.

The Londoner said he was playing with his kids when the painful muscle tear happened

“I’m modelling the latest in high street injury chic,” before turning his leg around so he could show off the plastic support in full glory.

Charlotte, attempting to be supportive, said: “You’re rocking it very well.”

Dad-of-two Ben confessed: “I did it last week but I didn’t make a fuss, I ruptured a few ligaments in my ankle.”

Giving him some gyp about his crocked look Kate quizzed: “Was it a great sporting triumph?”

The chunky moon boot covered his left thigh

The bashful 42-year-old confessed: “I fell off a wall. I was messing around with the kids, trying to be too ninja and failing again.

“And it’s been quite bad.”

Seemingly lacking a bit of sympathy, Kate jokingly said: “Basically you’re an idiot and you paid for it.”

He added: “That’s what my wife says and my kids now too.”

The sports-mad 42-year-old was branded an ‘idiot’ by co-host Kate

Fans quickly took to Twitter to wish the rugged presenter their best,

One wrote: “Ah get well soon, Ben. (It’s better to be a failed ninja than never to try and be a ninja at all).”

Another then put: “What on earth have you done mate to end up with the space boot on???” as a third quizzed: “Bearded and casted oh well NinjaBen I hope you’ll be okay soon with no running or football. That would kill me more. Keep smiling.”

One shared: ““Fell off a wall”? Okay Ben 😉You’ve hugged the wrong person on #tippingpoint I reckon 😜#GMB #goodmorningbritain” as another tried to pep him up with the words: “@GMB @benshephard aww bless! Still looking mighty fine this morning with your boot on! 😊.”

A show fan quizzed: “How long you got to wear that? No more running for a while then!” as a telly addict followed up with: “#goodmorningbritain – never mind the boot Ben, liking the facial hair.”

One simply put: “Hope u have a speedy recovery so u back running and golf x” and another gushed: “A speedy recovery Ben, I mean that. Your a good chap. I hope you get the TV presenter NTA.”

Good Morning Britain’s Piers Morgan planning to cheat in weight loss bet with Alan Sugar

The pair have placed a £5,000 bet on who can shed the most weight, with the loser having to donate the sum to charity.

The wager will be decided on GMB tomorrow when they both hit the scales in front of the nation.

During the show today, Piers, 52, told his co-hosts Susanna Reid, 47,  that he’s “feeling quite lean”.

But he admitted that he is planning to cheat to make sure he doesn’t lose the bet with Lord Sugar, 70.

When asked about the weigh in, Piers said: “I feel quite lean, quite trim.

“We’re going to cheat… fix the scales.”

Susanna helpfully asked him: “Do you want me to lean on the scales [when Lord Sugar is on them]?”

Piers went on to insist that the bet doesn’t seem fair as he is over six foot tall and Lord Sugar is “around four foot three”.

Lord Sugar accused Piers Morgan of piling on weight in their £5,000 charity challenge

He added: “I don’t know if I’ve lost weight. I might have put on, but it could be bone density.

“And muscle weights more than fat.”

The warring duo made a pledge on Good Morning Britain last month, promising that whoever ends up the least slimmed-down by December commits to stump up £5,000 for London Hospital Great Ormond Street.

Yet it seems ITV anchor Piers, who initially weighed in heavier than the Amstrad founder, is falling short.

Taking to the scales in October, Lord Sugar weighed 14 stone 3lbs where as Piers clocked up 16 stone 6lbs, which he said was “about right for my huge frame.”

A FORMER Tory minister refused to take a £1,000 bet with Piers Morgan that Theresa May will still be in power by April.

It comes after the Prime Minister was warned she could be booted out of Number 10 in weeks after he plan to solve the Irish border issue in the Brexit talks backfired spectacularly.

She is now left trying to convince the DUP to come round to her pledge to maintain “regulatory alignment” after we exit the EU or face the deadlock in the talks going on until March.

Amid rumours she could be forced out by Christmas, Owen Paterson refused to take a bet live on Good Morning Britain on whether she would still be in Downing Street by April.

Mr Morgan asked the ex-Northern Ireland Secretary: “Owen, how would you take my £1,000 bet to charity that Theresa May is gone by April as leader?”

He answered: “I can absolutely guarantee nobody in the Tory party wants a leadership contest.”

Mr Morgan, who said the PM was a “dead woman walking”, tried again, stretching out his hand and again offering to donate the money to charity if he was proved wrong and she stays in post.

But Mr Paterson refused to bite, instead asking the GMB host: “I’m asking can you name a single Tory that wants a leadership contest, nobody wants a leadership contest.”

Mr Morgan kept his arm out for a handshake on the bet, however Mr Paterson said: “No, I’m not taking easy bets.”

The conversation moved on, but the presenter refused to let it go, adding: “Well Owen let the record show you did not take my bet, even though you apparently think everyone agrees with you.”

The former Tony Blair spin doctor Alastair Morgan, who was sat next to the MP, chimed in and added: “Had I been advising you Owen – you did the right thing there.”

Mrs May has spoken to the DUP leader Arlene Foster this morning but a source said afterwards that “there is still work to be done”.

I’M A Celebrity’s Rebekah Vardy has hit back after claims she bullied campmate Iain Lee – before accusing the DJ of being a “game-player”.

The WAG, who was booted out of the ITV show in a shock eviction last night, broke her silence on today’s Good Morning Britain.

I’m A Celebrity’s evicted contestant Rebekah Vardy has revealed the secret gift campmates gave to Iain Lee

Footie ace Jamie Vardy’s wife was voted by the public to leave the jungle after going up against Saturday’s singer Vanessa White.

Last night, while she admitted she was gutted to leave the camp behind, she was less than happy to see Iain remain, branding him a “game player” in a chat with Extra Camp last night.

Yet today the mum-of-four back-tracked on her comments, claiming she was “under pressure” and they were “out of context”.

Referring to her cutting comments about Iain, Becky added: “I was under pressure.

The mum back-tracked on her words and let slip the inner secrets of camp

“That was taken out of context. He and I had some nice conversations in camp.

“I gave him a lot of pep talks.”

Perhaps in a nod to her genuine feelings for her co-star, she revealed campmates presented Iain with a “hard as nails” homemade medal after he battled his fears in a Bushtucker Trial.

Rebekah told how competitors in the ITV show were eager to praise the TalkRadio host for battling his fear of heights in the Space Your Fear challenge.

She said to “dream campmate” GMB host Piers Morgan: “We presented him (Iain) with something for his courage and bravery, and for doing the trial.

“He conquered a powerful fear.

“It was a special home-made medal, a special medal which said ‘hard as nails’.

“We wanted him to know we were proud of him for doing what he did.

“It’s true – don’t laugh!”

During the nail-biting challenge, Iain was blasted across the jungle in a rocket yet clung on to bag some grub for camp.

He told the camera he didn’t want to let his team down, because it felt “humiliating”.

Meanwhile, when challenged about Amir Khan and Iain’s strawberry scoffing antics earlier in the series – which saw them munch a Dingo Dollar prize to themselves – it seems she saw the funny side.

She said: “In camp, many of us couldn’t believe it had happened.

“But watching it back it was pretty funny to see Amir dressed as a pussy.”

Meanwhile earlier on GMB, Amir’s dad Sajjid revealed he was “very shocked” at his son’s selfish antics.

Yesterday, we reported how Rebekah told Ant and Dec she’d had “an amazing time” but added: “I’m so glad to get out of there!

She said after her eviction: “It was an amazing experience and something I will never, ever forget.

“It’s harder than I ever anticipated.”

Speaking about what she learned in the camp, she admitted: “I’ve learnt that I’m so miserable and so cranky sometimes and I can give looks that literally kill.”

She then told Ant and Dec that the things she was looking forward to most was “hugging her kids and eating”.
