GOOD Morning Britain host Ben Shephard was well and truly in the wars as he was forced to present the breakfast show wearing a huge moon boot strapped to his leg after falling off a WALL.

Ahead of today’s programme, the cheeky presenter shared a snap of the chunky grey support device on his left thigh and told fans he injured himself “failing to be a ninja”.

Good Morning Britain host Ben Shephard presented today’s show with his leg strapped in a moon boot

Alongside the image, which saw him posing with co-presenters Charlotte Hawkins and Kate Garraway, he wrote: “Morning all – so this grew on me overnight!”

The bubbly Londoner also presents ITV show Ninja Warrior, which sees competitors tackle a series of obstacles on an action-packed course, yet it seems his own skills don’t live up to the title.

As soon as GMB opened, he revealed just how he had suffered the painful muscle tears after Kate joked: “It’s Friday 13 and Ben Shephard has already had his bad luck – take a look at what he’s wearing this season!”

As Ben quipped his bad luck was “working with you” the camera panned to his leg under the desk as he said: “This is brand new for the weekend.

The Londoner said he was playing with his kids when the painful muscle tear happened

“I’m modelling the latest in high street injury chic,” before turning his leg around so he could show off the plastic support in full glory.

Charlotte, attempting to be supportive, said: “You’re rocking it very well.”

Dad-of-two Ben confessed: “I did it last week but I didn’t make a fuss, I ruptured a few ligaments in my ankle.”

Giving him some gyp about his crocked look Kate quizzed: “Was it a great sporting triumph?”

The bashful 42-year-old confessed: “I fell off a wall. I was messing around with the kids, trying to be too ninja and failing again.

“And it’s been quite bad.”

Seemingly lacking a bit of sympathy, Kate jokingly said: “Basically you’re an idiot and you paid for it.”

He added: “That’s what my wife says and my kids now too.”

Fans quickly took to Twitter to wish the rugged presenter their best,

One wrote: “Ah get well soon, Ben. (It’s better to be a failed ninja than never to try and be a ninja at all).”

Another then put: “What on earth have you done mate to end up with the space boot on???” as a third quizzed: “Bearded and casted oh well NinjaBen I hope you’ll be okay soon with no running or football. That would kill me more. Keep smiling.”

One shared: ““Fell off a wall”? Okay Ben 😉You’ve hugged the wrong person on #tippingpoint I reckon 😜#GMB #goodmorningbritain” as another tried to pep him up with the words: “@GMB @benshephard aww bless! Still looking mighty fine this morning with your boot on! 😊.”

A show fan quizzed: “How long you got to wear that? No more running for a while then!” as a telly addict followed up with: “#goodmorningbritain – never mind the boot Ben, liking the facial hair.”

One simply put: “Hope u have a speedy recovery so u back running and golf x” and another gushed: “A speedy recovery Ben, I mean that. Your a good chap. I hope you get the TV presenter NTA.”

CHARLOTTE Hawkins has revealed her husband has given her “special dispensation” to MARRY Brendan Cole in a Strictly Come Dancing wedding.

The Good Morning Britain newsreader will tie the knot with the hunky professional, who is also hitched, as part of their sizzling jive on tomorrow’s BBC show.

Charlotte Hawkins has revealed she will ‘marry’ Strictly Come Dancing partner Brendan Cole on Saturday’s show

On Friday's GMB the mum-of-one talked about her latest tricky routine which she said had her "bouncing around like Tigger".

She revealed the pair will be dancing to Bruno Mars' slushy track Marry You and said: "We are actually going to get married - well, when I say get married, have a Strictly wedding."

Her co-host Ben Shephard quickly interjected: "Haven't you got a husband?" to which Charlotte, who wed Mark Herbert in 2008, replied: "I have got a husband already.

"He's given permission for me to get married for 90 seconds as part of the dance routine."

Pushing the issue cheeky Ben, 42, said: "He's given permission - can you do that?"

Charlotte, who improved with her second dance last week, giggled: "Special dispensation for 90 seconds only."

Meanwhile fellow GMB anchor Kate Garraway joked: "That's going to really help those Strictly curse rumours!"

Last weekend,  Charlotte wowed as she turned up the heat with a sexy Tango to the Top Gun theme tune.

But many fans felt the performance was overshadowed by Brendan's subsequent row with judge Shirley Ballas.

As they faced the panel, Brendan admitted messing up his footwork, saying: "I messed up. It was me. I put my hands up."

But he got a roasting from Shirley over the "rise and falls" in the tango.

Recently, Charlotte told The Sun she was hoping extra racy outfits would help distract from any footwork errors in her Strictly routines.

She said: “The worse my dancing gets, the more leg I’ll have to show to distract everybody. I’m probably going to shock myself. I suspect a lot of people will be shocked too. But you have to throw yourself into it.

“I can’t go on that stage as Charlotte the newsreader or Charlotte the mum. I have to pretend to be Charlotte Hawkins the dancer. I have to step into character. I have to step out of my comfort zone.”

Her change of heart comes after she first told the dance show’s wardrobe staff to tone down her outfits.

GOOD Morning Britain viewers likened this morning’s episode to the innuendo-filled Great British Bake Off as presenter Ben Shephard made a host of saucy jokes.

The hit cooking show, fronted by Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, often leaves fans squirming with VERY racy quips as the contestants whip up a storm.

Today, ITV viewers compared the rib-tickling breakfast show to the baking banter as Ben sparked some cheeky conversation with entertainment reporter Richard Arnold during a chat about the most popular baby names in 2017.

Richard quizzed his co-star: “What about Dick?

“I get called that a lot,” as the panel burst into floods of giggles.

Continuing the sexually-themed banter Ben said: “There’s only one dick on the desk.

“And one dick on the desk is enough!”

Yet Ben’s tongue-in-cheek banter didn’t stop there.

Richard was in hysterics at the banter

Later on, during a segment about arachnophobia, GMB anchor Kate Garraway confessed: “When I’m close to some of the big ones, I come out in cold sweats.”

Taking a very saucy connotation to her words, he quipped: “That often brings you out in cold sweats, does it?”

Kate seemed oblivious to his remark but those at home didn’t let it slide.

A tickled fan took to Twitter to post: “There’s only one dick on the desk and that’s right going up that…#gmb gets more like #GBBO every day @benshephard.”

Another put: “One dick on the desk is enough haha so funny,” while a third rounded off with: “Great to see the cheeky banter and yes Ben is a great name.”

A fourth then perhaps alluded to their fellow GMB presenter Piers Morgan and wrote: “We all know who that ‘one dick on the desk’ is too..he’s not in today tho!”

Great British Bake Off contestant Stacey complains about the lack of erection in her cake

This week, we reported how Bake Off addicts witness the naughtiest innuendo of the series as Stacey complained about her 'erection'.

Meanwhile, Ben's co-host Kate was also feeling playful on today's show as she told him he could sell her dirty knickers - if he gave her a share of the profits.

James, married to former Strictly co-star Ola, featured in a segment about the rise of house spiders on today's ITV show.

Earlier on in the episode, Love Island winner Amber Davies was filmed visiting a special one-day class on how to combat her own terror of tarantulas.

Dancer James admitted he "didn't know" how his sheer fear of the eight-legged creatures had began and told hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway: "People keep saying how beautiful they look - I don't think they look beautiful."

Attempting to offer some positivity and motivation, host Kate quipped: "Think of taking it on a Waltz in your hand."

After receiving some counselling from expert Peter Cohen, James was first up to test his nerves.

A huge spider called Peaches was plucked out of a box and handed to him, as he squealed: "Oh why do I want to do it? I don't want to do it."

The dancer was branded a 'wuss' by his dad for his fear

Celebrity Big Brother star James looked hugely troubled as Peaches crawled into his palm.

He muttered "Oh my God" as Peter and his team helped calm him.

James, 39, said in a breathless voice: "It is very gentle.

"But my legs are literally shaking."

After his ordeal, he admitted the tough task had done him some good.

James said: "this is a massive change.

"Though it did help having my dad around last night - and he told me I was a massive wuss!"

Earlier in the episode, fans were left giggling as Kate gave co-host Ben permission to sell her dirty laundry - so long as he gave her a share of the profits.
