CHARMED star Rose McGowan has used her high-profile Hollywood role as a means to campaign for womens’ rights.
She recently became embroiled in the sex harassment scandal starring Pulp Fiction mogul Harvey Weinstein, here’s what we know about the Hollywood actress.
Who is Rose McGowan and how old is she?
Rose McGowan is an American actress, producer, director and singer.
The 44-year-old grew up in the States, but was born in Tuscany, Italy.
She was married to Davey Detail between 2013 and 2016, and is now dating Josh Latin.
What films and TV series has Rose McGowan starred in?
Rose is best-known for her role as Paige Matthews in the WB supernatural drama Charmed, between 2001 and 2006.
She made her film debut in 1992 comedy Encino Man yet found wider fame after starring in 1996 flick Scream.
She went on to act alongside Ben Affleck in Going All The Way and later took on gritty roles in Quentin Tarantino flick Planet Terror and crime thriller, Fifty Dead Men Walking.
When was Rose McGowan allegedly victim of a sex tape leak?
The actress was said to have become the latest high-profile victim of a sex tape leak in November 2016.
She is allegedly pictured performing a sex act in screenshots from the video released on social media.
According to the Mirror, reports of the leak have appeared in America, while images from the tape have been circulating on social media.
The newspaper claims there are two videos showing a woman, claimed to be Rose, performing sex acts.
What has Rose McGowan said about the shocking claims against film producer Harvey Weinstein?
Pulp Fiction film mogul Harvey Weinstein has been at the centre of shocking allegations of sexual harassment.
One employee wrote in a memoir that it was a “toxic environment” for women who worked in his company, while British film star Jessica Hynes claimed Harvey had tried to get her to do a screen test in a bikini.
Rose, 44, is thought to have been paid £75,000 by the producer over an incident in the 1990s, and she recently tweeted: “Ladies of Hollywood your silence is deafening.”
She then took to her Twitter account to upload a snap showing her in her youth and the words: “This is the girl that was hurt by a monster. This is the girl who you are shaming with your silence.”
A-listers such as Meryl Streep and Gwyneth Paltrow have previously praised Weinstein but have yet to comment since the row erupted.
How did Rose McGowan get into a spat with film company 20th Century Fox?
The Italian-born actress recently hit out against film company 20th Century Fox, slamming its advert featuring Jennifer Lawrence’s character Mystique being choked as “casual violence against women.”
In a Facebook post she wrote: “There is a major problem when the men and women at 20th Century Fox think casual violence against women is the way to market a film.
“There is no context in the ad, just a woman getting strangled. The fact that no one flagged this is offensive and frankly, stupid. The geniuses behind this, and I use that term lightly, need to take a long hard look at the mirror and see how they are contributing to society. Imagine if it were a black man being strangled by a white man, or a gay male being strangled by a hetero?
“The outcry would be enormous. So let’s right this wrong. 20th Century Fox, since you can’t manage to put any women directors on your slate for the next two years, how about you at least replace your ad?”

Will Rose McGowan return to TV screens in a Charmed re-vamp?
Meanwhile Rose’s Charmed co-star Alyssa Milano sparked rumours the enchanting show could soon return.
She said the Charmed witch sisters could reunite at “any second” as fans push for a re-boot of the Nineties TV series.
Alyssa told Entertainment Tonight: “It seems like it’s going to happen at any second.
“I just feel like with all these reunions, and we still have such a cult following, that I feel like someone’s going to put that together at some point, and we’re all totally on board for that!”
The original programme ran for eight series until 2005 and had viewers divided between the family witches, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and blonde vampire-hunter Buffy in a decade when supernatural shows were at their height.

IT WAS the astonishing and groundbreaking nature documentary which took us under the sea like never before.
And 20 years on, the BBC is bringing you a new series of Blue Planet after film crews spent four years scouring the seas for a fresh cast of aquatic animals. Here is what you need to know…
When is Blue Planet II on BBC1?
The new series of Blue Planet II was announced back in February and will air on October 29 at 8pm.
The seven-part documentary sequel comes 20 years after the original series, which set out to explore the deepest and darkest realms of the world’s oceans.
One of the most memorable and heartbreaking scenes was a brutal attack by a group of killer whales on one of their babies.
Other creatures featured included dolphins, fish including marlins and sea birds.
And when it aired in 2001, it received widespread acclaim from both the public and critics alike.
It also made nearly £20 million in the sales of DVDs, books and broadcast rights, while the show was sold to more than 150 territories across the globe.
Is there a trailer for Blue Planet II?
Yes – a brand new trailer for the series dropped on October 20.
It gives fans a tantalising peek at what’s in store, announcing that “new science and technology” will allow us an even closer look under the waves in the new episodes.
Dozens of creatures, from whales to seahorses, are seen in the eye-popping promo clip.
Is David Attenborough involved?
Renowned naturalist Sir David Attenborough will be presenting the series and his familiar voice will form part of the narration.
Sir David turned 90 last year and had been rumoured to have been on the verge of retirement.
But his involvement in Blue Planet II is being seen as a coup for the BBC.
Sir David said: “I am truly thrilled to be joining this new exploration of the underwater worlds which cover most of our planet, yet are still its least known.”
Last year, he was the voice of the successful Planet Earth II series, which regularly drew in more than 10 million viewers.
And it is believed Sir David’s reputation will help the BBC with international sales of the new programme.
What new sea creatures are involved?
Blue Planet II is set to feature even more aquatic animals and has used highly ambitious filming techniques to capture them in their natural environment.
Some never before seen animals have been caught on film for the first time – including the Hoff Crab, which is named after Baywatch star, David Hasselhoff.
Among the creatures to be filmed for the first time and featured in the series include hairy-chested Hoff crabs, snub fin dolphins that spit water through the air and a tool-using tusk fish.
Other animals set to be shown also include coral groupers, reef octopus and giant trevally fish.
New specially developed camera technology allowed the crew to film predators front-on, and even “travel” on the backs of whales, sharks and orcas.
One scene will even show a sperm whale mother and her young calf as they head deep into the abyss to hunt.
Where was it filmed?
Camera crews travelled to every continent and worked across every ocean to film scenes for the new documentary.
The series is set to show both icy polar seas, vibrant coral atolls and the storm beaten Atlantic coastline.
Viewers will also be shown new landscapes such as methane volcanoes which erupt in the Gulf of Mexico and the so-called boiling sea phenomenon in the Pacific Ocean.
For the first time, the show will also show footage of the Antarctic at 1000 metres deep after taking two manned submersibles to explore the polar ice cap.
Executive Producer James Honeyborne said: “The oceans are the most exciting place to be right now, because new scientific discoveries have given us a new perspective of life beneath the waves.
“It will provide a timely reminder that this is a critical moment for the health of the world’s oceans.”

THE Walking Dead are almost upon us once more as the hit zombie-thriller heads into its eighth season.
Rick and Negan might be braced for war but there are some others out there that could make life very difficult for our favourite survivors – here’s everything you need to know.
When does The Walking Dead air in the UK?
The premier of The Walking Dead season 8 airs on UK screens on Monday 23 October on Fox at 9pm.
You can watch Fox if you have a Sky subscription or if you have a Now TV account.
What will happen in the The Walking Dead season 8?
The latest series of The Walking Dead is likely to be one of the most explosive in the show’s history.
The premiere is going to pick up right where the season 7 finale ended, with Alexandria, The Kingdom and The Hilltop Colony declaring war on Negan.
In a total twist on the premiere from Season 7, where Negan destroyed all hope within our favourite characters, season 8 will start with something more hopeful.
Negan no longer has control and it becomes more plausible that his tyranny will not last forever. This opening episode could be the one where we get the old Rick Grimes back.
On the premiere, Andrew Lincoln (who plays Rick Grimes) said: “We are going to have to come and bring one of the greatest episodes we’ve ever attempted, and we’re going to start the season with it. And, it will be the hundredth episode, which is one of the greatest.”
Who’s in the The Walking Dead cast?
Andrew Lincoln, 44, is a British actor who is by now best known for his role as Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead.
He first entered the public realm of consciousness as one of the favourite soppy-hearted, love-sick fools on Love Actually where he played carol music and told Keira Knightley that he loved her.
He got married to Gael Anderson in 2006 where Chris Martin and Gwenyth Paltrow’s daughter served as a flower girl. They have two children together – a son and daughter.
Norman Reedus is an American actor who is essentially now completely synonymous with the character Daryl Dixon.
The Walking Dead was not his first rodeo, in fact he had been building up quite the career having acted in Guillermo del Toro’s Mimic as well as Blade II, American Gangster, 8mm and The Boondock Saints.
Since The Walking Dead Norman’s career has gone from strength to strength.
He is currently working with Guillermo del Toro again, along with legendary Hideo Kojima, on PS4 game Death Stranding.
Lauren Cohan is best known for her role on The Walking Dead but she’s also had recurring roles on Supernatural, Chuck and The Vampire Diaries.
The actress graduated with BA in Drama and English Literature at the University of Winchester before she embarked on her Walking Dead adventure.
Interestingly, she acted alongside Jeffrey Dean Morgan as the Martha Wayne to his Thomas Wayne, mother and father of Batman, Bruce.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, 51, is an American actor who is probably best known for his role as John Winchester on Supernatural.
That however is definitely changing because of the energy and vibrancy he brings to the deliriously dangerous Negan.
For many comic book fans he is also a major star in The Watchmen where he played The Comedian, the vigilante who is driven by his greed and inherent love for violence – something similar to his Walking Dead character.
Chandler Riggs, 18, is best known for his role as Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead.
He was cast in the role at just 10 years of age and is his biggest role to date.
He starred in Keep Watching alongside Bella Thorn and Ioan Grufford in 2017 where he played a member of a family that was being terrorised by intruders.
Christian Serratos, 27, is best known her role of Rosita Espinosa on The Walking Dead.
The California native also had a starring role in the Twilight saga – she played Angela Weber
Christian is an animal activist who takes the rights of our furry friends seriously. She has posed for a number of PETA campaigns to promote a vegan lifestyle.
Danai Guirira, 39, is an American actress and playwright who is probably best known for her role on The Walking Dead.
Her parents came to the US from what was called Southern Rhodesia, which is now Zimbabwe. She was born in Iowa but moved with her family to Zimbabwe when she was five, after the country gained its independence.
In 2016 Dana’s play Eclipsed was nominated at the Tony Awards for Best Play and won Best Costume Design.
She’s a headstrong activist having partnered with J+J against HIV/AIDS and founded the non-profit organisation Love Our Girls, which aims to highlight the issues and challenges that affect women around the world.
Lennie James, 51, is an English-born actor who has been working in the business for over two decades.
He has been in films like Snatch, Blade Runner 2049 and Les Miserables.
He originally starred in the pilot episode of The Walking Dead and wasn’t seen or heard of again until the third series. After that he didn’t appear on the show until season 5. In the sixth series he became a regular cast member.
Despite his few appearances in the show overall, Lennie plays one of the most convincing and beloved characters in it.
Alanna was born in July 1988 in Long Island, New York, to parents Carol Masterson and Joe Reaiche, a former Australian Rugby League Player.
Her brother Jordan is also an actor, as are two of her half-brothers; Christopher Masterson, who played Francis in Malcolm in the Middle, and Danny, who is best known for his role as Steven on That 70s Show.
Alanna joined The Walking Dead in 2013 for the fourth season in the episode called Live Bait, which focuses on The Governor, played by British star David Morrissey.
She then became a series regular and once in Alexandria, forms a romantic relationship with the community’s doctor Denise Cloyd.

NEXT month thousands of men and women all over the world will be getting hairy for charity.
That’s because it’s Movember again – here’s our guide to what’s it all about and how you can get involved and help out.
What is Movember?
It started in 2003 with a group of 30 lads in Melbourne who decided to grow moustaches for a bit of a giggle.
The next year 450 men took part and they raised around £25,000 for prostate cancer research.
The trend quickly grew into a global phenomenon and is now a major annual event.
Now around five million people – dubbed Mo Bros and Mo Sistas – take part in at least 21 countries.
The Movember Foundation charity raises awareness and vital funds for the biggest issues in men’s health: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.
Every year 10,000 men die of prostate cancer – one an hour – and suicide is the biggest cause of death in men under 50.
The charity says men are facing a health crisis that isn’t talked about, and by 2030 aims to cut the number of men dying prematurely by a quarter.
How do I get involved with Movember?
The first thing you need to do is register.
Once signed up, you can decide whether you’re working alone, or whether you want to team up or join another “pack”.
There are also events to join such as fun runs or some attend Sandown Park Gentleman’s Day.
You could even host your own party for you and your mates to compare facial growth.
What are the rules for Movember?
Every participant starts with a clean shave on October 31 – with a “before” photo to prove it.
Mo Bros then spend the next 30 days growing and grooming their upper lip hair. You get extra kudos for unusual styles or recreating the look of a famous tache wearer.
If you’re being strict, no beards are allowed. That means you cannot join your moustache to sideburns, or join chin hair to handlebars.
However the organisers want as many people as possible to get involved, so people who already have a beard are encouraged to sacrifice it to make way for a Mo at the start of the month.
On November 30, take a photo of your effort and share it with friends, colleagues and anyone you begged to sponsor you.
One of the great things about Movember is the sense of community. Even if you don’t know anyone who is doing it, you can join in the events and parties and connect with tache growers across the world through the Movember app.
Girls can get involved too by donning false moustaches at the parties and fun runs.
